Manuscript Editing
Common software programs for PC and Mac platforms are supported.
The Editorial Process
Using the Track Changes feature in Word, Beth reads and edits the manuscript one time. She uses the Word feature Insert/Comment to ask about meaning or to suggest wording for different meanings.
She then returns the edited manuscript. The author reads the manuscript, answers the questions and returns the manuscript for the second edit.
Beth reads and corrects the manuscript again, then asks more questions if necessary. The author then reads and answers any new questions. Beth and the author work together until all sentences are precise and accurate.
If you do not understand a correction, then please ask about it.

Send a Manuscript File
Send a digital file of your manuscript by e-mail as an attachment to Dr. Beth E. Hazen at behazen@willowsend.net to request editing. Include all figures and tables. Figures: please send as pdf files if possible. Tables: send editable files, e.g., Word or Excel.
Include the date needed, number of text pages, tables and figures, journal (and URL for the journal’s Web site if available). Manuscripts are added to the editing queue in the order they are received.
If you need an estimate of time needed for editing, please ask for one.
Allow enough time to complete the editing process; the editing queue may be 3 to 5 days long. The better your English, the less time needed (average: ca. 3 hr). When your manuscript is received, it is placed in the editing queue. Please include any deadline that you have; Beth will make sure that you meet your deadline.
Beth will reply by e-mail with an estimate of the day she can return the first edit to you.
If you do not receive a response within 48 hr, then please send another e-mail to ensure that we both received our e-mails.
